Q: How old must I be to pawn/loan or sell and item?
A: The policy of Brooks Pawn & Jewelry Inc. is that you must be 21yrs of age.
Q: What items must I have with me to pawn/loan or sell an item?
A: You must have a valid state issued I.D. (i.e. Drivers License)
Q: What is the duration of a pawn/loan contract?
A: 4 Months
Q: Can I lose my item on a day the business is closed?
A: No. You can come in the next open business day to retrieve your property.
Q: Can another person retrieve my property for me?
A: No. Except in extreme circumstances and with prior contact to the company.
Q: Can i get information about my pawn/loan over the phone?
A: No. California State privacy laws prohibit us from discussing contracts over the phone.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept cash only for repayment of your pawn/loan. We accept cash/credit/debit for in store purchases.
Q: Can I pay my fees over the phone or via mail?
A: No. All payments must be made in person.
Q: What happens if I let my contract expire?
A: You lose title to the pawn/loan item(s) and they will be sold.
Q: Can I pawn/loan on the same collateral more than once?
A: On most items, yes you can. However the decision is at the discretion of the pawnbroker and may not always be allowed.
Q: If I sell something can I buy it back?
A: No. You will never see the item again.
